FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Framing For Food collects 8,750 cans of food
GRAND JUNCTION (Nov 1,2007)-October is National Picture Framing month and at the FRAME DEPOT we celebrated with our annual “Framing for Food” event October 15-31. Our Goal this year was 5,000 cans of food and we were overwhelmed with the support of our community and customers who “Got their CAN in here” and brought in 8,750 cans of food. “Supporting our community is an important part of what we do at the FRAME DEPOT,” said Claudine Bogart, manager, “and we are proud to have such caring customers who helped to make ‘Framing for Food’ such a huge success. For each can or item of non- perishable food customers brought in, FRAME DEPOT takes $1 off of their framing order up to half of the total order. All food is donated to FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES.
All of the food was picked up on November 1 in the FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES brand new truck donated by the Ford Motor Co. and Newman’s Own Food Company. FRAME DEPOT was excited to fill the truck with all of the food we had collected.
“Framing for Food” has been an extremely successful event due to the support of our local community and fellow sponsors like CUMULUS RADIO, THE SIGN SMITH and SSD PLASTICS. In our first year we collected over a 1,000 cans, and the following year we set a goal to double that number and were overwhelmed with the generosity of our customers who brought in a total 4,439 cans! After such a huge success this year of over 8,700 cans it will be hard to top in 2008. Thank you Grand Junction for “Getting Your Can In Here!”
FRAME DEPOT is conveniently located west of Sam’s Club on Bogart Lane in Grand Junction. For more information call 970-245-6999 or long onto www.framedepot.com. Photos of the event are also available by calling Claudine.
