Concerto Collection

Fine Artisan Frames by Larson Juhl

A genuine respect for the history of the decorative arts has consistently distinguished the collection of fine art frames from Larson-Juhl.  The new Concerto Collection takes this respect to a new level of appreciation.  These finished corner frames both document the history of fine art frames and offer contemporary collectors a new way to showcase their finest pieces.  Frame Depot now proudly features this exquisite collection.

To achieve this level of craftsmanship, master artisans at Senelar, Larson-Juhl’s century-old atelier in northern France, place compo ornamentation on the mouldings by hand.  The frames are then sent to an atelier in Toronto where artisans gild, burnish, finish and other wise complete the decorative applications, often using elaborate historical techniques.  Each of the designs in the Concerto Collection has been gilded with twenty-two-carat gold leaf.  Not surprisingly, both the workmanship and level of detail in each frame is akin to that of a piece of fine jewelry.

While the provenance of these artisan frames varies, the authenticity of their styles, profiles, and finishes does not.  Some were created directly from the design archives at Senelar, while others are the product of research into the history of fine art frames worldwide.  As a collection, they represent a broad range of periods and regions from around the world.

The impeccable craftsmanship in the Concerto Collection has obvious applications for fine art, historic portraits, and original period art.  Concerto frames are not limited to only museum quality artwork.  These frames are also appropriate to whatever pieces a collector deems a treasured heirloom.  What this new collection tells us is that the history of fine art frames is interwoven with the history of collecting.  Most of all, these artisan frames will augment and inform the experience of collecting-and treasuring-fine art of any kind.

To view this exciting, museum quality collection stop by and let one of our designers work with you to create a masterpiece for your home.  For more information go to www.larsonjuhl.com
